November 2003
Do your sexy thang...

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE
Thanks for logging on to the latest issue of Happygrrls.com!

It's that time of year again. No, not old man winter…it's time for our annual Sexy Issue. Since our first sexy issue is our most popular issue to date (I guess we're all a little freaky, no?), we knew that we had to put out another one that was just as sexy.

So, what gets you all hot and bothered? Is it listening to some romantic music? Is it spending hours in bed with your man? Or is it being showered with gifts? We'll let you in on what we think is sexy, and we will also provide you with a list of songs that put us in the mood for amour.

From sexy men to sexy encounters, we've upped the ante on the sexy quotient, and added a dab of spice purely for taste.

Are you in a relationship but your dough is kinda low? Read Wooing on a Budget so that you can solve your financial woes and still impress your date.

Also included in this issue are interviews with two of the city's dopest DJ's: Golden Child and Reddy Fox. Not only are these men talented, but they're also down to earth and know how to make you stand up and take notice.

Visit our Arts section and read reviews on two very popular books, Why Men Marry Some Women and Not Others, and Memoirs of a Geisha. You can also check out a review on hot new artist Javier. If you want to know why camouflage is so hot right now, visit our Fashion section for the latest in trends.

July 2003
Bizarro!

Yep, you read it correctly, it is our first ever Bizarro/Summer issue. I know you're asking yourself, What makes this issue more bizarre than ever? Well, we've come up with our own version of 21 Bizarre Questions, not to be confused with the 50 Cent track, and we also reveal the dumb things that we've said and done that we would like to forget (read the pick up lines that we used on men).

We've also switched personalities. We decided to step out of what we know and not write our regular columns. For instance, cute and loveable Phan will reply to your questions in the Angry Black Grrl column; mall hater and unfashionably cool Christine will answer your fashion queries in Dear Shopaholic; and I will forgo writing about retro shopping and instead speak about the night in da club that made the Dating Diary so much fun to write.

Hey, don't worry, this issue isn't all about bizarre things.

Since the summer weather looks like it's here to stay, we've been hitting all the cool events that have come to our fair city. We attended the MMVAS, and we dish the dirt on the cool and not-so cool celebs (read about who was the biggest jerk!). Also, please don't forget to read about the Concert for Toronto held this past June.

Enjoy the issue!

April 2003
One year sexier...

Okay, we've done like two issues of our e-zine - kidding, we've actually done six, can it possibly be one whole year since the Happygrrl mania started???

None of us would have thought that we would have continued after the first issue. We just went out, ate, drank and pretended to talk about the next issue. (Why do I have so many memories of Smirnoff Ice??) As more and more people started clicking on our site (and I can't forget the shout out on Flow 93.5 FM), we knew that our little ol' site was here to stay.

So we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to those who visit the site, and especially to those who forwarded the link to their peeps! (Especially you Erica - I should really pay you for your PR services!!!) Thanks for biggin' up us T. Dot grrls!

Like usual, we have a cool theme to explore in our current issue. For our anniversary issue, we decided to talk about all things from back in the day, when we were just little grrls. Be prepared to relive the era of break dancing, when P. Diddy was known as Puffy, and that sick obsession with crimped hair.

You know that we couldn't complete this issue without talking about our first crushes, our first loves and the uglyass trends that we had to follow. So expect some embarrassing and shocking details. Also, don't forget to click onto our regular columns: Dear Shopaholic, Dear Angry Black Grrl and Christine's Dating Diary.

So put on your favourite old skool CD or mixed tape (or 8-track) and get ready to take a trip down memory lane.

Enjoy!

February 2003
Out with the old...

[ It's damn February and we're putting up our 2002 Year in Review??? We got some nerve, huh??? Nah, we're just a bunch of lazy asses.

Oh well. Check out the site and tell us what you think. ]

Can you believe that 2002 is over? I am actually sad to see it go. Some of the coolest things happened over the past 365 days: We started the website, some friends got married, some had babies, I quit my lousy job, Christine found a new job and Phan was involved in every sport known to man. Overall, it was definitely a very interesting and exciting year.

Especially in the world of entertainment. Christina Aguilera showed how ho-ish she really is, Eminem let us know that he's handling his business in music and in films, Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes and N*E*R*D let the world (and me!) know that he's the most talented muthaf^$**, and R. Kelly and Winona Ryder showed us that celebrities are even crazier than we think.

In this issue we will reminisce about the past year, tell you who YOU picked as the "most overrated celebrity" along with other li'l tidbits, and reveal what our shocking New Year's resolutions are.

So as we proceed to give you what you need, don't forget to e-mail us and tell us what you think of the issue.

Enjoy!
