The BET Awards:
Show highlights...

Is a Fugees reunion in the works? Fans across the world say: yes please!

Beyoncé does a sexy dance while Howard appreciates the...goods.
Where were you the night the Fugees reunited?? Oh, my bad, maybe you don't think the Fugees' reunion was a monumental event, but for a hardcore Fugees fan like myself (and the number one Lauryn Hill fan), I still can't believe what I saw on June 28th, 2005.

Before I start, I should tell you that Will and Jada hosted The BET Award Show. They did a good job; their skits were funny and they weren't as annoying as they usually are when they are together.

Okay, enough about Will and Jada and back to the matter at hand. Lauryn, Pras and Wyclef set off the show with a medley of their hits. You could see the look of surprise on the audience's faces as they watched the once bickering group now sharing a stage. When they were fully able to comprehend that what they were watching was not a mirage, they got on their feet and began to enjoy the music.

They weren't the only ones happy to get a taste of some old skool hip-hop. I too had my hands in the air and waving them like I just don't care.

The Fugees blessed our eardrums with hits like "Ready or Not," "Fu-gee-la" and "No Woman No Cry." But they didn't deliver it to us the same way that they did back in '96. They changed it up, gave it a little reggae flava and served it to us nice. (Psst, they alluded to a new Fugees album hitting us in the near future.) You know your girl is gonna cop that!

As crazy as it may sound, the reunion was not the most memorable event of the show (for some). I'm sure that everyone has heard about the now infamous Destiny's Child lap dance. More specifically, Beyoncé's lap dance for someone who wasn't Jay-Z.

While performing "Cater 2 U," each member of Destiny's Child (even Michelle) went into the audience and chose a supposedly unsuspecting guy. Kelly chose Nelly, Michelle chose Magic Johnson and Beyoncé chose Terence Howard.

When they returned to the stage, they sat each guy on a chair and began to dance for them. Kelly and Beyoncé looked comfortable gyrating, but poor Michelle looked as though she wanted to run off the stage and cry.

The funniest part of the performance for me was watching Terence's eyes glued to Beyoncé's big booty. He could have at least pretended that he wasn't excited. It's safe to say that the Fugees reuniting on stage was not the highlight for him!

On the whole, I have to admit that I really enjoyed all four hours of the show. There were tons of great performances (Gladys Knight put singers half her age to shame as she flawlessly belted out her tunes, and John Legend performing with Stevie Wonder was ridiculously good!) and the skits weren't as corny as years past. ¤ Michelle
