THE LIST
Christine's List
I know that I'm going to be ostracized for my list. Please keep in mind that I'm being honest though. Actually, that will probably be worse, since I am telling the truth.

Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover, Sophie B. Hawkins
Truth time: I liked this song when it came out, yes, but I didn't start to love it until I heard it once on an episode of "Beverly Hills, 90210." Incidentally, it was played during the scene where Kelly and Dillon were down at the beach, spending their last day night together before Brenda was to come home from her summer trip in France. The title says it all, Miss Hawkins' voice is absolutely divine (needy yet sensual), and the lyrics send chills up my spine. Who wouldn't want someone to come up to them and say those words?
Sample Lyrics: Damn I wish I was your lover / I'll rock you till the daylight comes / Make sure you are smiling and warm...

Pony, Ginuwine
Truth time: Heh, I bet many people forgot about this song, or the fact that Ginuwine also did a remake of Prince's "When Doves Cry." Is this song cheesy? Maybe. Sexy? You bet. I call this my stripper song, although if I heard it at the right time, my stripper routine would only last two seconds.
Sample Lyrics: If we're gonna get nasty baby / First we'll show and tell / 'Till I reach your pony tail... (Pony tail - heh.)

Doin' It, LL Cool J
Truth time: This song sends my blood boiling. I really don't know why. Is it the beat? The lyrics? What the lyrics suggest? It's probably a combination of all three. Just the first lines of the song (it's our first time together and I'm feeling kind of horny…) are enough to send me into a hormonal frenzy. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating here, but not by much. Come on, if you heard this song and you were alone with that very attractive someone, you'd definitely feel in the mood for some fooling around.
Sample Lyrics: Nice and hard / Safe sexin it, flexin it, gettin that affectionate / Chewin it, oohin it, all while we're doin it... (Love the safe sex shout-out.) ¤ C.Ho.

This Woman's Work, Maxwell
Truth time: As sappy as this title suggests, this song is an instant aphrodisiac. Remember "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever" and "Ascension"? Weren't those the jams a few years ago??? So you already know that Maxwell can deliver the goods. Maxwell's not-so new song "This Woman's Work" is just as smooth. It was originally sung by a female artist (Kate Bush), but Maxwell's falsetto voice complements the song nicely. When he hits those high notes, it feels like warm kisses on my neck. Was that way too much information??? Sorry. Take my advice and listen to the track and let me know what you think.
Sample Lyrics: I should be cryin' but I just can't let it show / I should be hopin' but I can't stop thinkin' / All the things we should've said that we never said / And all the things we should've done that we never did / All the things we should've given, but I didn't...

You're All I Need, Mary J. Blige and Method Man
Truth time: When I first heard this song back in the day, I knew that it would eventually become my anthem. Even though it is not your traditional love song, its phat beats and lyrics of undying love has enough power to warm any thug's heart.
Sample Lyrics: I got a love jones for your body and your skin tone / Five minutes alone I'm already on the bone / Plus I love the fact you got a mind of your own / No need to shop around, you got the good stuff at home / Even if I'm locked up north, you in the world / Wrapped in three-fourths of cloth never showin your stuff off, boo / It be true, me for you, that's how it is...

Oops (Oh My), Tweet
Truth time: I don’t know if it’s the base line or the actual content of this single that has an affect on me. Considering that this song is about “self love,” (y’all know what I’m talkin' 'bout) I want some attention when I hear just a few bars of the song. I guess what appeals to me is that this jam is all about taking control of a situation. Either you handle yours on your own, or you let that special someone put out your fire. Either way, your frustrations will be gone!!!
Sample Lyrics: From the start, so butter and brown and tantalizing / You woulda thought I needed help from this feeling that I felt / So shook I had to catch my breath... ¤ Michelle
