Happygrrls On the Town:
Karaoke fever...

KARAOKE
On a whim (okay, with Christine's urging), Phan, Christine and I decided to spice up our Thursday night by singing at a Karaoke bar.

I am in no WAY a singer. I may sing in my car, sing in the shower, but I would not knowingly subject anyone to my bad voice. However, I'll let you in on a little secret (please keep this on the down low!) - even though I initially declined the absurd offer, I have always longed to dash my inhibitions to the wind and sing my little heart out. So with little hesitation, I decided to join them at Karaoke.

Once we got to the bar I could not stop laughing. We stepped into a room that had more music equipment than most studios. We were also provided with a book of "hot new music," and given the freedom to unleash the girl group that lives inside all of us.

At first, I lip synched through half the songs (like I stated before, my voice SUCKS! [Does not! - Chris]), but towards the end of our "session," I became more at ease with my voice and tried to hit a few high notes.

But the star of the night, or should I say budding diva, was Christine. Obviously not new to the art of Karaoke, she belted out every song and begged Phan and I to do the same. We tried to embrace the raw emotion and passion that Christine possessed, but we fell short [that's hilarious and highly flattering - I ain't no Mary J. I'm not even a J. Lo. - Chris].

Our musical escapade lasted an hour, but it was definitely one of the coolest hours that I have ever spent. ¤ Michelle
