Stylish, affordable and chic…

When I noticed that the harsh Canadian subzero temperatures were a thing of the past, I decided that it was a suitable time to toss my heavy puffy coat to the back of the closet and purchase a lighter jacket that would work well in the spring season.
My quest took me to department stores, trendy retailers, and thrift shops, but I still couldn’t locate exactly what I wanted. Being a short girl, I was looking for the right length that would flatter my body. And of course, it had to look trendy, sophisticated and stylish.
On a random trip to The Real Canadian Superstore (practically the best grocery store ever…besides Fortinos!), I had a chance to peruse the Joe Fresh Style clothing line that I recently saw advertised online. The line is designed by Joseph Mimran, the genius behind Club Monaco and Caban (psst…he also works on the President’s Choice Home Collection – the uber stylish houseware line).
Joe Fresh Style boasts casual basics at very affordable prices and features apparel for both men and women. I saw everything from cute li’l capris to sexy shirt dresses.
While I was stocking up on a plethora of beauty products, I spotted two jackets that had the possibility of coming home with me.
The first was a ¾-length black topcoat that fit well and completely hugged my body. I liked it, but I thought that it might be a little too long for me. I tried on a black English peacoat that looked like it was straight out of the mod sixties! I liked that it had a flattering length (the bottom of the jacket rests comfortably above my hip) and that it looked both sexy and chic. This hot little number was a mere $39.00.
I have worn this jacket a million times over the past few weeks. It looks great with denim and is equally hot with an A-line skirt.
