Dramatic looks for 2006:
Benefit for eyes…
Just because the holiday season has come to a close does not mean you have to neglect your appearance. I know that there aren’t as many parties to go to now, but this is the best possible time to embrace your sexy self. You need to start 2006 with a bang!Take a look at a few products from Benefit Cosmetics that I used to get ready for the new year!
BADgal Gear
From the award winning BADgal lash comes the gear to get you going! Set includes: a mini BADgal lash with a full-sized brush, a brand new formula of liquid black eyeliner, and of course no BADgal leaves home without a full set of falsies (glue included under the tray).
I love that the BADgal Gear (the set includes BADgal lash mascara, false eyelashes, and BADgal liquid eyeliner) prepares you for “winter affairs…clandestine or otherwise.” Hey, I’m a single girl and I am ready for a winter affair. Hell, I’m down for a spring, summer or fall affair!
This kit is catered to the girl who wants and demands attention. Wallflowers need not try this at home.
The one thing that I was anxious to try was the fake eyelashes. Normally, wearing fake eyelashes would overwhelm me (yes, deep down I am a wallflower), but I’m more than ready to let my inner bad girl loose.
As bad as I wanna be, I still needed to enlist a friend to help me put on the lashes. I am extremely clumsy, and I was having a hard time putting them on by myself, so a very patient friend of mine applied them for me in a matter of seconds.
Grrls, fake eyelashes are hot! I couldn’t stop batting my lashes. It felt a little funny for the first few minutes that they were on. From the corner of my eye, I could see the lashes go up and down when I spoke. My biggest fear was that they would fall off when I was talking to someone. Luckily they didn’t. They were very securely attached to my lash line.
I wouldn’t recommend wearing fake eyelashes to school or to work (unless you are a burgeoning drag queen), but I would definitely suggest wearing them if you’re going out for a night on the town with your grrls, or if you’re trying to flirt with a cute guy. Once you wear fake eyelashes, you won’t go back!
…is this going to take long
Cruising for new color? Take the high road with these eye color trios in sophisticated neutrals. These racy new palettes with 'on the go' shades for eyes are just what you need to get your show on the road.
This eye shadow palette is from the Roadside Attractions Fall 2005 Color Collection, but this vibrant trio of neutrals is suitable for me any time of the year.
The eye shadows come in varying degrees of gold tones (soft cocoa sheen, neutral gold sheen, and ivory sheen). I don’t really like to wear gold accessories, but surprisingly, gold eye shadow is an absolute must.
I applied the soft cocoa sheen shadow to on my eyelid and under my brow, and then I brushed the neutral gold sheen over my eyelid, making sure to get it into the creases. I liked that my eyes didn’t look too overdone. The gold tone blended with my skin and gave it a vibrant J. Lo. glow.
I finished off the look by using the lash lengthening BADgal lash mascara. Very sexy!
When I hooked up with a friend for drinks, I tried this look:
The result: a sun-kissed look that gave me that bad gal feeling that I need. If this look doesn’t attract the fellas, I don’t know what will! ¤ Michelle
- I applied powder to my face.
- I brushed on the above-mentioned eye shadows and gently attached the fake eyelashes.
- I lined the outer edge of my lids with the BADgal liquid liner.
- I added blush to the apple of my cheeks (I used Raisinesque Cheekhue from MAC - it’s discontinued, but it still looks terrific!).
- I finished off by glazing my lips with a shimmering lipgloss (I used Beaux from MAC Cosmetics).
