To The Test:
Burt's Bees...

Big up to my sister for telling me about Burt's Bees.

Burt's Bees is a company that is dedicated to providing their customers with completely natural products (well almost natural: about 98% natural). Most of their products are made up of …surprise surprise…beeswax, along with other ingredients found in nature (aloe vera, sweet almond oil, eucalyptus oil, lemons, coconuts, etc.). They are able to effectively create a variety of products ranging from lip balm to toothpaste, which are not weighed down by harsh chemicals.

Here are a few products that we were able to try from their Head to Toe starter kit.

Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm
Burt's most popular product, chocked full of pain relieving protective ingredients to help soothe cracked, chapped or burning lips.

Before I even put this lip balm on my lips, my sister couldn't help but tell me how much I would fall head over heels in love with this lil' product. But as you may know, I am a somewhat opinionated grrl and like to judge things for myself. Not that I don't trust my sis, it's just that I am at times a very picky chick.

Well I tried it, and yes, she was right. The lip balm was tha bomb!

It has a nice pepperminty smell and went on very smooth on my lips. It wasn't at all waxy like some other brands. It kept my lips chapped-free for hours on end.

Anyone who wants to bring some hydration to their sexy lips, check out this little gem.

Burt's Bees Milk and Honey Body Lotion
Moisturizing and emollient ingredients nourish and soothe dry skin.

Okay, since I mentioned to my sis that I received some products from Burt's Bees, I had to hook her up with a little somethin' somethin'.

Even though I really (I mean REALLY) wanted to try this product, I offered it to my sister and she quickly snatched it out of my hand. I can't blame her; the smell was mesmerizing.

As soon as you open the bottle, you are hit with a nice cocoa butter smell. As my sis put it, she felt like she was chillin' on the beach on a deserted tropical island.

Not only did this lotion have a great fragrance (smells like a yummy pina coloda), my sister said that it worked like a charm on her dry skin.

Score two for Burt's Bees.

Burt's Bees Peppermint Shower Soap
Moisturizing and emollient ingredients nourish and soothe dry skin.

Peppermint is one of my all time fave herbs. Yes, I do have a favourite herb. So it should be no surprise that I jumped at the opportunity to try this soap.

Truthfully, when I opened the package the soap did not look that esthetically pleasing. The soap bar was dark green in colour and didn't shout "use me!!"

But looks are very deceiving. My skin was given a very powerful jolt courtesy of the invigorating properties of peppermint. I felt as though I was given a long overdue massage.

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme
For strong, lovely healthy fingernails, our popular Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is a winner.

The cold winter weather can wreak havoc on your hands, especially your nails. My nails are regrettably nasty in any type of weather, so this product was definitely calling my name.

You know the saying "a little goes a long way?" Well that should be the slogan for this product. I dabbed a bit of the creme on my nails and noticed in a couple of days that they weren't as dry and brittle. It wasn't an overnight transformation, but I noticed a definite difference in their appearance.

This item also gets props for having a nice lemony smell. After using this on my nails, I wanted to go out and buy some lemon-flavoured candy.

If you are down for an environmental and natural approach to your cosmetics and beauty care products, I suggest you take a look at what Burt's Bees has to offer. Have fun shopping! ¤ Michelle
