Do They Really Work?
Lush to the test...

I am very loyal to the products that I use. Therefore, there are only a handful of brands that can do no wrong in my eyes. This month I put the Lush products to the test to see if they are as good as they claim to be.

Lush Honey I Washed the Kids
Mouth-watering honey soap for washing you, the kids, the dog and the granny. Real honey hand and body soap to soothe and sweetly scent your skin.

What I love about the soap Honey I Washed the Kids is that it looks like a fat slap of chocolate fudge. It smells like it too. I didn't know if I should shower with it our devour it. I did come close to licking it, but I held back.

This soap lathers up well and fills the shower with a beautiful caramel smell.

Beware, the scent does not linger. If you want to smell like a dessert, then this soap is not for you. If you want a hint of chocolate, then pick it up.

Lush Dream Cream
Those of us with skin that gives us severe problems sometimes (or all of the time) could spend our lives dreaming of a beautiful, clear, trouble free epidermis. We try many beauty creams and pharmaceuticals, you name it, we've used it, but still our bothersome skin won't behave. Give Dream Cream a try; we get loads of letters about how well it works. Why? Because it is made with every calming plant we can get our hands on: oats have been used on the skin as far back as Celtic times, softening rose water, calming lavender and chamomile, olive oil to moisturize and loads more. The scent sometimes takes a bit of getting used to as it's not your average floral thing, more of a herbal approach. Get some. There's no point in having a dream unless you're going to have a decent crack at making it come true.

I read in a magazine that when certain celebs are in Toronto, they cannot leave the city without purchasing a truckload of Lush's Dream Cream. Being the curious person that I am, I wanted to see if it was up to the "Michelle Challenge." Can it make my dry skin sparkle?

After a very relaxing shower, I applied some of the thick, herbal-smelling body lotion all over. I liked that once I applied it to my skin, I had an immediate glow. Okay, so far The Dream Cream is living up to its name. But will the radiance last?

After a few hours passed, my skin still felt smooth and had that healthy glow. Looks like the Dream Cream is a definite keeper.

If you ever need to bribe me or make me do something I don't want to do, all you have to do is entice me with some shower gel. I do realize how really, really sad it sounds, but I'm addicted to showering with anything that has a sweet smell.

Lush Freeze
Peppermint has this amazing quality of making your feel cool when you're hot and warm when you're cold. When you're in a warm shower and you put a dollop of Freeze Shower Gel on your body it gives you a refreshing, tingly feeling all over. Peppermint has been used for thousands of years to help the skin stay soft and the mind stay focused. One view is that it was named "mente," meaning "thought" because it is said to help concentration and inspiration. If you lack either of these, try making Freeze your morning shower gel and shampoo of choice.

The last Lush product that I was happy to test was the Freeze shower gel (it is also my favourite item of the 3 products). It contains peppermint, bergamot and orange essential oils, Scottish seawater and aloe vera gel. I know it sounds like an overload of scents, but trust me, it works.

Not only did I fall in love with the fragrance (the slight pepperminty smell is sooo relaxing), I loved the rich blue colour. It also gets bonus points for not being too thick - which sometimes makes it difficult to wash off (not a big problem, but hey).

So looks like Lush products have been added to my list of must haves. Try a few and let me know what you think. ¤ Michelle

Psst! Lush's products are all handmade and are not tested on animals. Hurrah!
