To The Test:
Lush, Running to the Embassy…

Tread softly and step lightly with smooth, spearmint-y feet after giving your self a good scrub with our new minty bar. It's a multi-purpose, multi-tasking clever little thing which revives tired feet with spearmint and peppermint, soothes them with marigold essential oils, takes off dead skin with ground pumice stone and moisturises them with cocoa butter and shea butter. Use it in the bath or shower or run yourself a bowl of warm water and use the bar to give your wet feet a massage and a pumice scrub. Be sure to give your feet a really good rinse to get rid of the bits of pumice (they can get stuck under your toe rings and be bothersome) and the natural butters, which can make your feet slippery. When you're finished you'll feel as though someone younger has lent you their feet.

Sometimes I am so not a girl. This proved no more true than the other day, when Michelle and I met up to detox from work and she handed me a small bar wrapped in Lush's signature packaging.

Not knowing what to do, I stared at it for a long time, thinking it would magically unwrap itself and show me the way.

"It's for your feet," Michelle informed me.

"Ahh," I said.

Although I don't normally use bath products, unless you count the soap lying around in my shower, I have always been looking for a little TLC for my feet. After years of wearing nothing but heels, it had started to manifest itself in ways I thought unimaginable. Of all the body parts that needed pampering, my feet were first on the list.

Running to the Embassy is not an exfoliant, although initially I was convinced it was, and truthfully a little scared of how much skin I'd have to lose before my feet returned to normal. The solid bar is actually a body butter that relieves and soothes tired feet with cocoa butter, spearmint, and peppermint. There are bits of ground pumice stone in the bar as well, but to really get rid of that dead skin, you may have to use a separate pumice stone in conjunction with Running to the Embassy.

Like all things Lush, the bar smelled good enough to eat. The directions were simple: in the shower or bath, rub the body butter on your feet (and watch the magic happen). The first time I tried it, I was quite pleased with the results. The butter moisturized my feet like they had never been moisturized before, and the fragrance - unlike regular soap - had lasting power, and the peppermint scent was invigorating. Even hours after I applied the treatment, my feet felt like they were walking on silky air.

Since it's body butter, the bar can get a little messy to use in the shower. Even though the bar is solid, once in contact with water, it will turn into a creamy texture, which becomes difficult to use in the shower without fear of an accident. It can also leave unsightly streaks in the bathtub, so it's a good idea to spend extra time rinsing before stepping out.

Over all, I was quite impressed with Lush's Running to the Embassy. The body butter held true to its claims, and gave my feet a much-needed breath of fresh air. For some extra indulgence, visit Lush's website for some great ideas. ¤ C.Ho.
