Beauty 411:
Lush Ginger...

Early on this year, Lush introduced a new fragrance called Ginger to their legions of Lush devotees. I, like usual, was ready, willing and able to try this new scent. But before I doused myself in all the spicy ginger goodness, I couldn't help but think. "Hmm, I love gingersnap cookies, pickled ginger with my sushi, and of course, West Indian gingerbeer. But will I truly enjoy smelling like a gingerbread man?" Let's see.

Lush Ginger Fragrance
It's warm, spicy and pink. The perfume itself isn't pink (it's perfume coloured), but the label is pink and if you close your eyes and smell Ginger you start to visualise pinkness all around you. The warm, spicy bit comes from the Jamaican ginger essential oil which wraps you up in its strong, gentle arms and keeps you feeling warm and tingly. Exotic flower fragrances of mimosa, ylang and jasmine mingle with rose and geranium to remind you that you're a woman.

I lean towards wearing light, fresh smelling perfume, and the thought of wearing a very strong, vibrant smell like Ginger was a little overwhelming.

I opened the bottle and sampled a drop on my wrists. "Hmm, not bad. Not too strong." I decided to wear it to work that day to see how much I liked the smell.

I loved how the blend of Jamaican ginger and Oriental flowers created a very romantic feel. I found it so different from anything that I ever wore or smelled, that I decided that I would reserve this perfume for a long, cozy night with that special someone (okay, if I had man, I would wear this for a romantic night!).

Lush Ginger Dusting Powder
Dust your body in with warm, spicy, sensual Ginger powder, apply a little lightweight clothing then head off for the evening in a fragrant cloud of eastern blooms and West Indian warmth. On cold days, comfort yourself with a dusting of Ginger before you put on your woollies and imagine you're in a spice garden, not a suburb.

This dusting powder (for the body) is subtly scented with Ginger perfume.

It is perfect for applying after a long, warm shower or bath. It gets bonus points for containing a hint of glitter.

If you are timid or afraid to try the perfume, try this dusting powder which will provide you with a delicate way to ease into the Ginger perfume.

Lush Ginger Soap
This creamy, marshmallow colored handmade soap is scented with lashings of Ginger fragrance to scent your hands and body with a subtle spicy glow. It's not cheap (that isn't a printing error, it's the price) because it has so many essential oils in it that the cost mounted up a bit. We could have compromised and made it with less fragrance but that would have spoiled it, so we didn't.

Lush definitely knows how to create luxurious soaps, and this soap is no exception. This cute li'l pink soap is jam-packed with an enchanting ginger scent that smells both sweet and sexy. But it isn't just the smell that draws you in; this pretty bar is adorned with tiny rosebuds and pink ribbon, which would make any tomboy feel like the girliest of girls.

I loved that the soap did not get all mushy at the end, and it retained its intoxicating ginger smell to the very end. This is by far my favourite item in the Ginger series.

Hey, do you wear the same fragrance day in and day out? Looking for a change? It's spring and it's time to kick start a new you. Try Ginger and unleash that spicy temptress you know you are. ¤ Michelle
