Deal of the Month:
Time for some colour?

Spring is slowly rearing its pretty little head and we are finally able to spy summer fashions on display in store windows. Sexy capris, mini dresses, and flouncy tops – there are plenty of items to suit anyone’s taste.

Looking in my closet, I have noticed that I have an excess of black clothing. Since I am not an emo grrl, I thought that is was time to put a little colour into my drab, boring clothes. My quest took me to H&M, which is a moderately priced clothing store that offers shoppers great fashions at very affordable prices. Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld are just a couple of designers who’ve designed pieces specifically for the overly accessible store. Madonna recently tapped into her unlimited creative side and sketched a few pieces for the store. I’ve seen them and they’re cute, but pricier than the average H&M garment.

This store houses racks and racks of clothing in all hues – vibrant greens, bright yellows and orangey oranges. As I sifted through the pretty blouses and tees, I knew that I was bound to find a colour that was perfect for me.

As luck would have it, I tried on millions of brightly coloured clothing, but there was only one thing that had me prancing up and down the fitting room like I was Naomi Campbell. I found the cutest little black shirt dress. Yes, I know that it’s not a “real” colour, but I think that every woman should have at least one killer black dress in her wardrobe, no?

The dress is conveniently belted at the waist, which gives added definition. The cost: $39.90. If I buy nothing else for the season, I will still applaud myself for getting this dress. This dress is so unbelievably flattering to my body type. I plan on wearing it to every major function this summer. Okay, maybe not!

Just as I was ready to pay for my dress, I spotted a cream-coloured purse by the accessories wall. It is compact enough to hold my bare essentials, and not too big that it can double as a carry on (I know that BIG purses are in, but I don’t like them!). This fab bag only set me back $19.90!

It may look as though I punked out and stayed in my comfort zone and bought items without a hint of colour, but c’mon, I still did good, no? A dress and a bag for 60 bucks? I promise on my next shopping spree I’ll get some colour. ¤ Michelle
