Dear Shopaholic:
Anniversary surprises, the perfect jeans, roughing it...
Dear Shopaholic,
GOT A QUESTION?
I want to impress my boyfriend on our anniversary, if you know what I mean. But I'm a sweats kind of gal when it comes to night attire. Also, I wanted something that flattered my figure (I'm a little lacking at the top). Help!
TomboyVisit La Senza for a little lift on the top with their gel bras; don't forget the matching panties. Dresses are nice for special occasions and especially if you don't get to dress up all too often. Go for a classic black dress, if you don't own any. It'll be easy for you to ease this into your wardrobe. But if you're ready for colour, go ahead and dive in. Don't forget a pair a sexy, strappy sandals to finish your look.
Dear Shopaholic,
I have really wide hips and no butt, so it's hard for me to find a pair of flattering jeans. What do you suggest?
N. R.I suggest going to Jean Machine as they have the widest variety of jeans. Try on as many as you need to find the right fit. Maybe a hip hugger with a flared leg will help balance out your figure.
Dear Shopaholic,
I recently read an article on mixing gold and silver jewelry. I'm a traditionalist and can't imagine myself doing such a thing, but the article said it was okay to do so. What's your take on this?
T. C.I don't mind mixing golds and silvers as long as the gold colour is not too strong like a 10 carat one. Otherwise, I prefer wearing golds and silvers separately.
Dear Shopaholic,
My boyfriend got tickets to the ballet this fall. I've never been to anything as extravagant as this, so I'm a little confused as to what I should wear. I want to look nice, and yet I don't want to look like I'm going to the prom. What do you suggest?
C. H.You'll find dresses are not as extravagant as they were in the 90's. Even prom dresses are very simple these days. Many dresses are now just that, simple but elegant. Look for a dress that can be worn again to a party (not club). The key is to spend you money on accessories. The right jewelry, purse, and shoes will make the outfit work.
Dear Shopaholic,
I'm going camping and I don't want to make a fashion faux pas. What should I leave at home? What should I bring along?
Nature GirlDon't bring your curling iron. Make sure you have something to tie your hair back. Camping is about low maintenance. Bring a good sunscreen with at least SPF 30. You'll also need comfortable clothes and shoes to help you rough it. Don't forget your swimsuit and plenty of clean underwear. Have fun! ¤ Phan
