Just Desserts (555 Yonge Street)Mmm, if it's desserts you're after, then head down to Just Desserts. They have a very extensive selection of cheesecakes, tortes, flans, and cakes. Okay, so I don't really like dessert, but I know you do.
I was introduced to the downtown location five years ago. A friend remarked that it was a new location, so being the curious girls that we were, we decided to check it out. Ever since then, I was hooked. It wasn't so much the desserts, although the Strawberry Shortcake and Nuts About Chocolate will live in infamy with me. It's the ambiance, the staff, and the décor that make this café stand out. The patio is great in the summer, and the wall-to-wall windows overlook Yonge Street. It's perfect for any occasion - a girls' night out, a first date, or an intimate birthday bash.
In addition to the sweet stuff, Just Desserts also offers a full food menu. You've got your pastas, sandwiches, salads, and oven-baked pizzas. Did I mention the drinks? You've got your cappuccinos, your milkshakes, and my personal favourites, alcoholic beverages. If you ever find yourself on Yonge Street, make your way to 555.
