Places to get your hair done...
Exhale Hair Salon (155 Clark Boulevard, Unit 8, Brampton)Whenever I need to look fa-bu-lous for a special event, or if I want to look good for my damn self, the first thing that I do is make an appointment at Exhale Hair Salon.
In the first installment of Happygrrls Do Toronto way back in 2002, I made mention of this hair salon, but I have since become a permanent fixture at this beauty shop.
Exhale is located a little outside of Toronto, and specializes in styling all hair types and textures. From natural, to curly, to straight - the knowledgeable staff pays attention to all your hair care needs.
My advice to you: try to get there early, as this place gets busy very quickly!
On the off chance that I have to wait for it to be my turn to sit in Rosina's (hairstylist extraordinaire) chair, I find myself staring at each and every client as they are transformed right before my very eyes. I see sistas getting their hair coloured, straightened or pony-tailed, and fine young homeys getting their hair cornrowed, twisted or trimmed.
I love that Rosina makes me feel special every single time that I visit the shop. She is one of the sweetest people that you'll ever meet, and she always gives her clients exactly what they want. Believe me, she will work on your 'do until you are truly satisfied.
But her skills with a flat iron and her pleasant demeanor are not the only things that keep me coming back for more. It's the friendly atmosphere of the shop and the "always-telling-jokes" staff that make my visits even more enjoyable. (Yes, I'm talking about you - Dave, Ritchie, and even you, Granville - sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) To give you an idea of the vibe, think Barbershop without Cedric the Entertainer's character.
I really can't say enough about Exhale. I've been to several salons in the city, and no other salon that I've ever been to can compare. They offer reasonable prices, highly professional staff and above all, a great attitude.
So to my grrls and fellas that require some much needed pampering, call up my girl and make an appointment. But beware: don't be surprised if you receive some attention from new admirers. ¤ Michelle
