Mission Statement:
Why we're here, what we do...
Happygrrls.com was created by three grrls who have a passion for anything creative - be it film, music, fashion, or writing. We love to express our individuality and ourselves.Feeling the frustrations of school, work and the everyday stresses (like long lines, bad hair days, and bathroom stalls without toilet paper), we all came together to build a website for young and hip women like us (and the men who love them).
At first, the only thing we were sure of was that we wanted a creative outlet. With relatively no experience in website building, we figured that it was natural to then venture into this industry. It was neither for monetary gain nor world domination - simply put, it seemed like a fun project. And so, in April of 2002, and armed with a computer, basic HTML skills, an outdated version of Photoshop, and lots of red wine, Happygrrls.com was born.
We wanted to create a united voice for women everywhere (and if that sounds ambitious, then call us ambitious), while still maintaining our distinct and individual personalities. The things and topics that we choose to write about interest us, and we hope will interest our readers as well.
Through trial and error, we tweaked and re-worked the site. It became apparent that as we grew, so did Happygrrls.com. Nothing makes us happier than bringing a smile to someone's lips, even if it's just for a second. We always aim to produce a site that will entertain.
Simply put, our mission is not just to enlighten our readers, but also to create a forum for information, opinions, and of course, good old-fashioned grrl talk!
