February 2008: And there are those less ambitious documentaries that are satisfied in entertaining its audiences by offering them a brief but often shocking glimpse into someone else’s life. They might be the equivalent to the fast food of documentaries, but can amuse nonetheless. And today, I’m going to recommend such a film. The movie in question? READ ON >>

June 2007: When I decide to catch a flick, I will say that I take on a “movie snob” persona. Meaning, I usually choose to see movies that do not rely heavily on CGI, but on good writing with believable acting. Most of my favourite actors and actresses tend to tackle roles in independent films that shun flashy Hollywood movies. READ ON >>

February 2007: With a pretty straightforward, almost throwaway romantic comedy script, this film would have probably been relegated to the 2-for-1 DVD rack at HMV in a matter of weeks were it not for its wit and genuineness. There's no slick urban backdrop, no female actress with the whole MAC line of cosmetics thrown on her face, and no Will Smith playing matchmaker while falling in love. Instead, the film is rife with self-deprecating British humour, a lovable cast, and two leads that have genuine chemistry. READ ON >>

November 2006: His first feature-length project was about a group of hapless friends who venture into a remote cabin in the woods for…well, it doesn’t really matter why they’re in the woods. What really matters is that they stumble upon a recording of the Necronomicon, or The Book of the Dead (it’s already getting spooky, no?), which slowly turns everyone into a zombified mess. July 2006: Remember when you were a kid and you would make funky jewelry out of dried pasta? Necklaces and bracelets would be intricately fashioned out of fusilli and penne. Well, why not take that concept from your childhood but this time make jewelry that won’t cook in the sun? READ ON >>

March 2006: If you really stop to think about it, there are a lot of yucky everyday things that can get into your pores and wreak havoc. Even if you scrub your face three times a day with a giant loofah sponge and a sandblaster, chances are that your skin will still never be completely clean. And that, sadly, can lead to clogged pores, pimples, scaly skin, and other undesirable things on our faces. READ ON >>

July 2005: Every summer since I was a wee kid, I'd take advantage of the hiatus and run to the library to borrow books upon books. (This is before I discovered the mind-numbing joys of alcohol and reality shows, but I digress.) READ ON >>

May 2005: Eminem had the right idea when he rapped about cleaning out his closets a few years ago. Perhaps he was talking about dealing with his past instead of doing spring cleaning, but I still think that he had the right idea about getting rid of the things that you don't need in your closet. June 2004: After our long walk, we slipped into a secluded restaurant and had a few drinks. It was such a beautiful night because we sat by candlelight in a very dark, but intimate setting, and we told each other how much we liked each other. Needless to say, this date led to many more dates. READ ON >>

February 2004: Whenever I try to explain the concept to friends, innocent bystanders, fellow bus riders, etc. they always look at me like I'm crazy. Because the concept is very simple - control your little Sims and make sure that their needs are met. READ ON >>

November 2003: I'm not opposed to showering with that special someone, but I'm the type of person that has a particular routine that has been highly tailored to my showering needs. It's not a good showering experience for me when my routine is disrupted. READ ON >>

July 2003: While shampooing with Rosemint, I got a really nice tingling sensation. However, my hair ended up very dry the first time I used Rosemint. This shampoo was quite harsh on my hair and I needed to condition every time I used it. I enjoyed the tingle but the outcome was disastrous for my hair. READ ON >>

April 2003: When I was a teenager, I was lucky enough to have pimple-free skin, and I didn't have to worry about the dreaded acne curse. How lucky was I?? August 2002: I've recently started using blush and bronzer (not together, of course). Just the thought of the 80's streaked cheeks turned me off from trying out these products in the past. But if you use them properly (remember to blend well), they'll give you a healthy glow or a sun-kissed look. READ ON >>
