For cheeks, showers, and oily faces...

Phan
I've recently started using blush and bronzer (not together, of course). Just the thought of the 80's streaked cheeks turned me off from trying out these products in the past. But if you use them properly (remember to blend well), they'll give you a healthy glow or a sun-kissed look.

Blush: Apply a soft rosy hue to the apple of your cheeks.
Bronzer: Dust this across your cheeks, chin, and temples.

Instead of a flat finish on your face, give blush or bronzer a try. It will brighten your whole appearance. ¤ Phan

A friend of mine told me about the Healing Garden products for the past three years, and I only recently purchased some items out of sheer curiosity.

Being the queen of bath products (whenever I go to Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works, I stock up on the latest body lotions and fragrances), and given the fact that it was on sale, I decided to give this product a chance.

I tried the Green Teatherapy Soul Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel, and I was in awe of the smell. Not only is the fragrance intoxicating, it lasts forever. I have since done away with perfumes that are overpowering and tend to invade any room that you walk into, and simply use this innocent little shower gel.

Tip: To intensify the scent use the Enlightening Body Mist. ¤ Michelle

This is a total shout-out to all the ghetto people out there. You know who you are, so don't try to deny it.

For this installment of our Recommends, I am suggesting paper towels. Now, there are many obvious uses for paper towels, such as wiping away a mess, drying your hands, or origami. I already know this, you think to yourself. But did you ever think to use it to wipe your face?

Hell no, you say to yourself. Why would you need to wipe your face with that rough paper towel? Among the many things that I inherited due to genetics, an oily complexion was one of them. There are hundreds of products on the market for such a condition, and I've tried most of them. Toners dried my skin until it resembled a prune, and made me break out even more. Powders only served to mask the problem, and sometimes left an unpleasant residue on my face. Plus, they clogged my pores. I was an advocate of Body Shop Blotting Leaves until I found that they too left traces of colour (note: never try the pink ones, no one's face is actually pink).

After the record-breaking temperatures of this summer, my skin went into overdrive. To combat this problem I began using paper towels. Not only are they a cheap alternative, but they work! No residue, no clogging, no compact to carry around. On top of that, most public washrooms carry them so you don't have to bring a roll with you every time you go to the washroom. Michelle and Phan get a kick out of this because I find the most inopportune times to whip my paper towel out, such as at the table after dinner or in jewelry stores. Here's what you do: simply blot your face and watch the shine disappear (but blot carefully, you don't want to end up sticking yourself in the eye with it). ¤ C.Ho.
